Black and White Portraiture

The purpose of taking photos solely in black and white is to understand the importance of contrast, texture, and emotion. In this project, the professor instructed each student to take pictures of one model in black and white. Using the technical knowledge I had learned thus far about aperture, shutter speed, and ISO I crafted my portraitures. In the following photos I chose to explore lighting, movement, and close-ups creating an experimental aesthetic that I greatly enjoyed.
